Dental tips, news and insights
Dear Parkfield Dental patients,
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, I am sure you feel these last weeks have been difficult for all of us. Government guidance for dental treatment has been changing drastically. Over the weekend new government guidance has been published limiting dental treatment completely to help stop the spread of the virus. As a result, for the best interest of my staff, patients and all our loved ones, I must make the difficult decision to close Parkfield Dental until further notice.
However, during the closure we will be operating an advisory service for any emergency dental care for all our current patients only. All calls to the practice will undergo a robust triage process. Patients who have no symptoms of the coronavirus and have not been self-isolating will only be seen for URGENT dental treatment i.e. pain and swelling. Please be mindful of non-urgent dental emergencies such as lost fillings, loose or lost crowns, bridges, veneers, fractured dentures, chipped teeth, bleeding gums etc that can wait and not require urgent attention to.
I must reinforce that this service may change in the next few days depending on government guidance. There are ongoing discussions that all dental emergencies will be centralised at appropriate centres with more robust personal protective equipment.
Thank you for your patience in this difficult time and understanding the measures the government has put in place to protect everyone. Please stay safe during this period and I wish you and your family the best.
Regards,
Dr Neehal Shah
