If you have been thinking about straightening your teeth, the first question is almost always the same one: what is this actually going to cost me?
It is a fair question, and a surprisingly hard one to get a straight answer to. Most practice websites will quote a “from” price that turns out to apply to a handful of very simple cases, or they will decline to publish anything at all and ask you to book a consultation to find out. Neither is much help when you are just trying to work out whether this is affordable.
So here is a plain explanation of what clear aligners cost in Manchester in 2026, what moves the price up and down, and what you should expect to be included.

Across Manchester more broadly, you will see clear aligner treatment advertised anywhere from around a thousand pounds to five thousand and beyond. That spread is real, and it is not simply a matter of some practices being expensive. It reflects genuinely different things being sold.
This is the single biggest factor. Closing a small gap between two front teeth is a different proposition from correcting significant crowding across both arches, and the price reflects the number of aligners involved and the months of supervision required.
A short course correcting the front teeth only — sometimes marketed as “social six” treatment — sits at the lower end. Comprehensive treatment that moves every tooth and addresses how your bite comes together sits at the upper end. Both are legitimate; they are just not the same treatment, and comparing their prices tells you very little.
Some people only need the upper teeth treated. Treating a single arch costs less than treating both, so when you are comparing quotes, check which you are being quoted for. A headline price that looks unusually low is often a single-arch figure.
Post-and-post aligner companies — where you take your own impressions at home and never sit in a dental chair — are cheaper for an obvious reason. Nobody has examined you.
That matters more than it sounds. Aligners move teeth through bone, and moving teeth that sit in unhealthy gums, or that have undiagnosed decay or root problems, can cause damage that is expensive and sometimes impossible to undo. A supervised course includes an examination, X-rays, and a clinician watching what is happening at each stage and adjusting if your teeth do not track as planned.
Teeth drift back. This is not a failure of treatment, it is simply what teeth do, and it is why retainers exist. Some quotes include retainers, some charge for them separately, and some include one set but not replacements.

With a supervised course, someone qualified checks that your teeth and gums are healthy enough to move before anything starts. They take X-rays, so that problems hiding below the gumline are found rather than discovered halfway through. They review your progress, and if a tooth is not moving as predicted — which happens — the plan gets adjusted.
With a remote service, none of that happens. For a genuinely simple case in a healthy mouth, that may well be fine. The difficulty is that working out whether your case is simple, and whether your mouth is healthy, is itself a clinical judgement.
